- Because college is now a lot more expensive and a job after graduating is not guaranteed like it used to be. Therefor college kids are in a lot of debt and its going to set them back rather than putting them ahead; especially ahead of their peers who did a trade school program. Students can determine there payoff according to how fast they get a job and how well the job pays.
- I can see him using reason on page 402 when he talks about Americans changing jobs numerous times now more than ever and then he asks whats the point of a degree then that is singled in on one job. He also uses Character when he uses a personal appeal to “better” colleges
- I think hes using Inquiry because he ask and answers a lot of his own questions, the dialogue is informal and his audience is not only oneself because he mentions personal experiences but colleagues and by colleagues I mean other people in college debt or who have went to college. His purpose is to seek truth whether or not college today is worth the price tag.
- I think he is being a reasonable reasoner. He uses all of the criteria. He is well informed and his opinions are developed out of knowledge and supported by current and reliable evidence.
