TITLE: Guns should never be banned in the United States.
CLAIM: It is too late for guns to be taken away. (give gun ownership stats) maybe switch this with the title vice versa
REASON 1: 2nd Amendment, right to bear arms.
REASON 2: taking away guns will not get rid of guns (criminals will still have guns)
REASON 3: Murders will still happen without guns. its not the guns that are the problem but the society that we live in that is.
REASON 4: Guns serve as a form of defense, whether thats owning a gun in your home to protect your family or women owning guns to protect themselves from domestic abusers.
COUNTER ARGUMENT: Mass shootings has gone up and this wouldn’t have happened if there weren’t guns
REBUTTAL: while that is true, the majority of mass shooters illegally owned the guns they used. taking away gun rights would only take guns out of the hands of responsible law abiding citizens and only giving criminals the advantage.
CONCLUSION: In conclusion guns have been around for so long that it is too late to get rid of guns. that would physically be impossible. If guns get banned it will only give criminals the advantage. The number of guns in the US vs the number of mass shootings is a drop in the bucket. These killers would have killed whether they had a gun or another weapon. American citizens are more safe while owning and carrying guns.
